When we awake, we are no longer asleep.
Every day we “awake” out of sleep to see the world.
In a spiritual awakening, we awake to see our true nature.
It is a moment of recognition of a great presence. And unlike any other identification of self, this presence is constant, unchanging, pure, untouched and untouchable.
Until awakening, we identify ourselves in relation to our personal history. We define ourselves as a collection of experiences. We are defined by the past and the definition can change from day to day.
Once awakening occurs the identification shifts from this I am the body and its experiences to I am. I am this unchanging presence. I am pure consciousness.
This change in identification creates a subtle but all powerful change in one’s life. The grip of your personal history slowly loosens. A presence of love and happiness slowly begins to permeate your body and life more and more.
